Three things.

1. As an update to yesterday's post, today Christy decided our patient deserved a little reward for being so good. She brought her one tiny hershey's miniature candy bar, in honor of Halloween.

Addressing Christy's belly: "Oh, baby, forget what I said yesterday. You got a sweet mama."

2. In a flash of brilliance (and helped out by a very exciting online sale I found today) I got Jeff's Christmas present all figured out. And, so help me, it's AWESOME. Now I have to wait a whole 2 months to give it to him. Sigh.

3. I turn 30 in 8 days. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

30 is wonderful! And maybe, 40 is better. Besides, you don't want to stay in the same place forever, right? :-)

I've been watching in amazement for a few days as the links over here keep growing and growing with people who are hosting giveaways. And Then There Were Three!

For all those who have been looking for news... we have news! It's a boy!!!!!! Judah Anthony Tell was born last night at 6:15 PM. He's a healthy baby boy with light brown hair and bright blue eyes. He was 8 pounds, 4 ounces, and 22 inches long. Both Judah and Aubrey (and Jeff) are doing well. "She bore a son and said, 'This time I will praise the Lord .' Therefore she called his name Judah. The "Go" Bag

Our bags are packed and in the car. This, I assume, ensures us several more days before the little one arrives. :) Even though my bag is already in the car, I decided to do some research on what the mighty expert known as Dr. Google would have to say about it, just to make sure I do have what I need. There were obvious things, like something to wear home, something for the baby to wear home, a toothbrush. (These I could figure out for myself.) Then there are some outdated things. For instance, almost every list I saw told the dad to bring "change for a payphone, calling card, and a list of phone numbers." Since when does someone these days need change for a payphone? Every 15 year old pregnant patient I've delivered has either made a phone call or sent a text with in minutes of giving birth. Even my Mennonite patients use the cell phone in the delivery room. And they all also still say to bring camera and film . Which also seems like a somewhat quaint suggestion. I did se
